I guess you’ve had enough of Nithya and I babbling about some weird British TV show that you’ve probably never watched an episode of, aka BBC Sherlock. So all you “Why is Sherlock so good anyway?” people, this post is for you.
Let’s just start off by saying that this show can make you laugh, cry, freak out, and ship two characters so badly (John-cough-lock) that you want to pull your eyes out. Oh and did I mention that there are under 10 episodes?
Oh yeah. Feel the enthusiasm.
So basically, Sherlock is a British crime-detective show which features one of the most attractive people on the planet- Benedict Cumberbatch.
Besides the cheekbones, another reason why Sherlock is so good is the villain- Moriarty. Honestly, Moriarty is one of the creepiest, most powerful villain that I’ve ever seen on TV, and read about. This guy even made our top villains list, and he deserves a spot right up on the shelf with Voldy and President Snow. This guy’s just out right creepy.
But what makes it better than every other crime-drama out there? Definitely the supporting characters. When you watch Sherlock, you can tell that the writers spent a lot of time developing and creating the supporting characters. Each one has a full spectrum of character-ness, which basically means that they’re all different and unique-which in most shows, the supporting characters aren’t. Usually, the supporting characters are just kind of….there. But in Sherlock, they’re all freaking intense.
There’s Molly, who’s kind of introverted and shy, but really likes Sherlock. Then there’s Anderson, who never fails to be stupid. There’s Lestrade, who always needs Sherlock for help, Mary, who’s sentimental (HUGE SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED SEASON 3 JUST SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE LIKE COVER UP THE REST OF THIS PARAGRAPH WITH YOUR HAND AND SCROLL DOWN SO IT GETS COVERED UP AND READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH) even though she used to be (DID YOU SCROLL DOWN YET?) an assassin.
Then comes the actually episodes themselves. Every Sherlock episode is really cleverly written and scripted, and the dialogue is just FREAKING AMAZING.
HUGE SPOILERS DOWN BELOW SO PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
But besides the characters, and the dialogue, and the villain, I guess the reason why I love this show so much is because no matter how anti-social, rude, and just plain mean Sherlock is, everyone still loves him. There’s Molly, who cares about Sherlock no matter how rude he is to her, there’s Lestrade, who gave up his big arrest just because Sherlock texted him that he was in trouble, then there’s Mary, who could’ve killed Sherlock, and even though her life might’ve depended on Sherlock keeping his mouth shut, she didn’t. There’s Mycroft, who no matter how much he denies it, still sees Sherlock as his baby brother, and John who would protect Sherlock’s life with his own.
So after that sad deepness, let’s have a Sherlock weird gif roll.
DDDDIIIIEEESSSSS AAAHHHH

Okay there’s something honestly wrong with the Sherlock fandom. That Moriarty face is gonna haunt me in my dreams.
